Drug-eluting stent

Our client’s desire was to obtain micro reservoirs on the surface of cardiac stents. Volume control and positioning precision were critical. We started by producing prototypes and ended with a technology transfer with the industrialization of our process.

Technically one stent host 2920 micro reservoirs of a diameter of 70 µm for a total volume of 250 nL. Each cavity has to be precisely positioned at the center of the stent strut.
